Tether in the Netherlands is seeking a Node.js Software Engineer to build and maintain our P2P stack and ecosystem of modular npm modules, enabling fast, secure digital finance services.

You will contribute to production-scale Node.js apps, write clean, testable code, and collaborate with a globally distributed team to push OSS-friendly technology forward.

Experience with distributed systems and networking concepts is preferred; remote work is supported.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Node.js Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our P2P stack and expanding our ecosystem, which includes over 1500 public npm modules and robust, modular codebase.

Proven experience in Node.js development with production-scale applications.

• Strong competency in writing modular, maintainable code.
• Experience creating and managing reusable npm modules.
• Solid skillset in testing & debugging.
• Deep interest or experience with P2P technologies or distributed systems.
• Comfort working in a remote, globally distributed team; good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with native Node.js extensions (C/C++), or binding JS to lower-level code.
• Demonstrated ability to optimize network protocols or systems: latency, throughput, etc.
• Familiarity with advanced networking concepts.

Past contributions to OSS projects, especially in P2P or decentralized tech.
