Job summary

NetApp is seeking a Senior Network Systems Engineer to join our Global Network Services team, overseeing enterprise routing, SD-WAN, and campus networking on a global scale. You will own design to operations, mentor peers, and help modernise through automation.

The role emphasizes a cloud-first mindset and opportunities to apply infrastructure-as-code practices, with a hybrid in-office and remote setup at our Schiphol-Rijk location as part of NetApp’s global network operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of enterprise network engineering and operations experience with senior technical responsibilities.
• Deep hands-on Cisco SD-WAN experience (vManage/Catalyst Manager, vBond, vSmart) including policy design and onboarding.
• Expert routing knowledge (BGP, OSPF), including route redistribution and policy-based routing.
• Experience delivering complex multi-site network projects from design to operations.
• Strong campus LAN/WAN knowledge: L2/L3, switching, VLANs, STP, redundancy.
• Proven automation usage to improve network operations (Python, Ansible, Terraform, APIs).
• Strong troubleshooting, incident resolution, and cross-region collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own global routing design, implementation, and operation across internet edge and WAN.
• Engineer and operate Cisco SD-WAN including on-boarding of new sites.
• Lead campus networking across access, distribution, core, and wireless.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex incidents and drive root cause analysis.
• Deliver network projects: new-site builds, migrations, and design changes.
• Maintain health with monitoring/telemetry and change control processes.
• Develop standards, runbooks, and architectural roadmap contributions.
• Collaborate with automation/SRE teams to move to infrastructure as code.
