Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Senior Mechanical Equipment Engineer to support major energy projects based in Rotterdam. The role is a 12-month contract with potential extension, working 40 hours a week with hybrid arrangement (3 days in Rotterdam office).

The candidate must have 5–10 years in Oil & Gas, experience with mechanical static equipment and process packages, and the ability to mobilise quickly with valid NL work rights. Start ASAP.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Select methods and procedures to optimize design in line with codes and standards.
• Plan and complete activities within time and budget, ensuring interfaces between systems.
• Ensure Scope of Work complies with contractual and SBM internal requirements.
• Incorporate lessons learned and manage changes across project boundaries.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties per contract requirements.
• Potentially serve as Package Engineer for design, procurement and manufacture.
• Lead engineers on assigned scope and possibly act as Discipline Lead.

We're recruiting for an experienced Senior Mechanical Equipment Engineer to support major energy projects based in Rotterdam. Our client is a leading in Oil & Gas floating technologies with some massive projects starting up.

This is an initial 12 month contract with potential for extension long-term. Mon-Fri, 40hrs per week, hybrid working 3 days per week in the Rotterdam office.

Start Date ASAP. Due to timing of the project, candidates must be able to mobilise quickly. Therefore, candidates must have current right to work in Netherlands and able to mobilise quickly.

Purpose

The Senior Engineer's purpose is to design and engineer solutions that achieve high standards of safety, reliability, and sustainability, thereby contributing to the projects and organization's strategic objectives and long-term success.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and optimization of the design within the scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations.
• You are responsible for proactively planning and completing activities and deliverables within agreed time frame and budget, as well as for ensuring system interfaces.
• You ensure that your Scope of Work is delivered in accordance with both the contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.
• You ensure applicable lessons learnt are used, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries.
• You coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties, in accordance with contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.
• You may be assigned as a Package Engineer with technical responsibility for the design, procurement and manufacture of the Package.
• You start leading engineers on assigned scope of work
• You may act as Discipline Lead for an assigned scope of work.
