Job summary

FairPlay Engineering in the Netherlands seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of Emergency Power Systems for critical environments, including data centers, hospitals, and industrial facilities.

You will own the complete mechanical design package, including diesel generators, frames, fuel and cooling systems, and control interfaces, from concept through execution, driving reliability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of fuel, cooling, and ventilation systems.
• Experience with CAD tools such as Inventor, Vault, Navisworks, AutoCAD.

Senior Mechanical Engineer – Emergency Power Systems

Are you a Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in diesel generators and emergency power systems? We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team delivering innovative power solutions for critical environments, including data centers, hospitals, and industrial facilities.

In this role, you will take ownership of the complete mechanical design package for emergency power systems, ensuring technical excellence, reliability, and commercial viability from concept through execution.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and optimize emergency power systems for both containerized solutions and on-site installations.
• Manage the complete engineering package, including diesel generators, frames, fuel systems, cooling and ventilation systems, control panels, and supporting electrical provisions.
• Develop innovative mechanical solutions using advanced CAD software.
• Perform engineering analyses, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), dynamic simulations, and technical calculations related to load, stress, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
• Identify design improvements that enhance performance, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
• Oversee projects throughout the full lifecycle, from concept development to implementation.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation to support installation, operation, and maintenance activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on engineering excellence, sustainability, and process optimization.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a strong hands-on approach.
