Job description

At High Tech Systems, you’ll work as a senior mechanical engineer on technically complex projects that help make the world a better place. You’ll be responsible for the design process, from the initial idea through to a working prototype. If you’re passionate about your profession, have an affinity for developing innovative technical solutions, and are keen to take the lead in driving things forward with others, we’d love to meet you.

What are you going to do?

As a senior mechanical engineer at High Tech Systems, you will work in the field of precision engineering, often relating to the semiconductor industry, but also on projects focused on sustainability. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will take responsibility for a module or subsystem, or for aspects relating to the mechanical architecture.

Based on functional decompositions, you develop concepts that align with the project’s objectives and communicate these objectives to various stakeholders both within and outside the project. During the development phase, you substantiate the concept by carrying out calculations and simulations and defining test set-ups to ensure functionality at an early stage.

You work from a clear vision of what needs to be achieved. Driven by professional expertise, you steer the decision-making process towards a successful outcome. You engage your team by challenging them technically, whilst paying attention to their professional development.

Collaboration with other disciplines is an essential part of arriving at the best solutions; to this end, you readily look beyond the boundaries of your own discipline.

In parallel, you take responsibility for the documentation and its quality, and you prepare for the implementation and verification phases, in which collaboration with suppliers, procurement and prototyping forms an essential part of your work.

In short, within the dynamics of a project, you play the role of the linchpin whilst also being part of a team: everyone brings their own specific strengths to the table, and by taking each other into account, you are able to make a difference for the client.

What do you bring to the table?
  • A completed Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
  • Experience in one or more of the following fields: precision engineering, mechanical engineering or industrial automation;
  • 7 years’ relevant work experience.
What do we offer you?

At Demcon, you’ll be working on technology that makes a real difference. In a relaxed organisation that encourages initiative and fosters a positive working relationship with motivated colleagues, you’ll help build solutions for both today and tomorrow. We genuinely care about you as a person and encourage job satisfaction and a healthy work-life balance.

You can also count on the following, amongst other things:

  • 8% holiday pay, with the option to have this paid out in May or monthly with your salary;
  • 25 days’ holiday and 6 ATV days based on full-time employment;
  • Option to purchase additional days;
  • Partial remote working arrangement: up to 2 days per week for full-time employees, always in consultation with your manager;
  • Training courses and programmes via the Demcon Academy for your personal and professional development;
  • A good pension scheme with Zwitserleven;
  • Bicycle scheme/bicycle lease scheme;
  • Wellness programme including fun sports clinics, fresh fruit every week, workshops and a workplace health check;
  • Active staff association (monthly activities and an annual Demcon weekend).
