Demcon is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive mechanical realization of our mechatronic systems from concept through manufacturing documentation.
You will lead design activities, coordinate outsourcing, and ensure technical quality while mentoring fellow engineers and maintaining customer relationships.
As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the successful realization of the mechanical aspects of our innovative mechatronic systems and concepts. From the earliest concept phase onwards, you play a key role in transforming ideas into technically feasible and manufacturable solutions. Working within multidisciplinary project teams, you lead the mechanical design activities and provide a solid technical and analytical foundation for design decisions. You take ownership of the entire engineering process, from concept development and detailed engineering to guiding the creation of complete manufacturing documentation. During the realization phase, you coordinate the outsourcing of mechanical components and oversee assembly and integration activities. Throughout the project, you ensure technical quality, manage risks, and make well-founded engineering decisions. In addition to your technical expertise, you act as a coach, mentor, and leader for fellow engineers. You foster collaboration within the team, maintain close relationships with customers, and help create a positive and productive project environment. Through your leadership, communication skills, and system-level perspective, you contribute not only to successful project delivery but also to the continued growth of the department and Demcon as a whole.
