Job summary

Cititec is supporting a major data centre main contractor in Amsterdam, building a brand-new mechanical delivery team for a hyperscale project.

The role focuses on leading mechanical engineering activities from design through construction and handover, coordinating with electrical, CSA and other disciplines, managing design deliverables, and ensuring compliance and quality on site.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in mechanical engineering within construction, ideally large-scale or complex projects.
• Proven experience in mechanical design, coordination and construction delivery.
• Good understanding of mechanical systems and construction methodologies.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders including consultants, subcontractors and site teams.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering activities from design through to construction and handover.
• Review mechanical designs, drawings and specifications to ensure technical compliance, constructability and project requirements.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with Electrical, CSA and other project disciplines.
• Manage mechanical design deliverables, RFIs, technical submissions and design changes.
• Identify and mitigate design, technical and construction risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work closely with consultants, subcontractors and site teams to resolve technical issues and maintain programme.
• Support value engineering, off-site manufacturing and design optimisation opportunities.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality and compliance with approved designs.
• Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams.
• Maintain key project documentation and ensure effective information control throughout delivery.
• Support project handover, ensuring all relevant mechanical documentation and technical information is completed.
