Job summary

Van Oord is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide expert maritime and offshore legal support across complex projects, tenders and operations. You will advise on charterparties, marine services contracts and risk allocation while coordinating with project, procurement and insurance teams.

The role requires a qualified lawyer with extensive maritime law experience (8–15+ years), ideally with a Master in Maritime Law, and a pragmatic, commercially minded approach under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with strong maritime law expertise.
• Experience with charterparties and offshore contracts.
• Commercially oriented, capable of high‑risk negotiations and timely advice.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist legal support across maritime and offshore contracts and services.
• Draft, review, and negotiate charterparties, transport & installation contracts, and related agreements.
• Advise on regulatory, safety, and liability matters in national and international contexts.
• Support risk allocation on vessel operations, weather exposure, delays, and disputes.
