Job summary

Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam is seeking a Senior Project Estimator to join the Sales Department. You will independently draw up quotations for repair, maintenance, conversions and construction works based on data supplied by customers, and collaborate with purchasing, subcontractors and suppliers to build an optimal budget.

This technical-commercial role requires extensive knowledge of estimating in ship repair, strong English, and a proactive, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Higher or secondary technical education with affinity both commercial and technical (engineering or shipbuilding).
• Extensive knowledge of estimating and cost structures in ship repair.
• Flexible, accurate and a team player.
• Very good English, written and spoken; EU citizenship.
• Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Projects and other relevant software.
• Experience in estimating maritime projects or in a technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Draw up quotations for repair, maintenance, conversions and construction works based on customer data.
• Analyze data and consult with the customer to define the requested scope of work.
• Collaborate with purchasing, subcontractors and suppliers to draw up an optimal total budget.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits; travel may be required.
• Make timely, accurate cost calculations and formulate technical specifications.
• Plan own work and monitor delivery of calculations and other deliverables.
• Provide project planning and preliminary data when requested by the customer.
