Job summary

Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam is seeking a Senior Project Estimator to join the Sales Department and independently prepare quotations for repairs, maintenance, conversions and construction works based on customer data. You will collaborate with purchasing, subcontractors and suppliers to build an optimal budget and delivery plan.

The role requires extensive knowledge of ship repair costs, a mechanical/naval engineering background is a plus, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Higher or secondary technical education level with affinity both commercial and technical.
• Extensive knowledge of estimating and cost structures within ship repair.
• You're flexible, accurate and a team player.
• Your English, verbally and written, is proficient and you are an EU citizen.
• Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Projects and other relevant software.
• Used to working in teams, with a service providing and flexible attitude.
• Extensive knowledge of ship repair market and ship repair techniques.
• Broad technical knowledge; mechanical or naval engineering background is a plus.
• Experience in estimating maritime projects or technical environments.

Responsibilities

• Independently draw up quotations for repair, regular maintenance, conversions and construction works based on data from customers.
• Analyze data, consult with the customer to clarify the scope of work and set the budget.
• Work with purchasing, subcontractors and suppliers to form an optimal total budget and delivery plan.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits, potentially traveling within the Netherlands and abroad.
• Prepare accurate cost calculations and formulate technical specifications.
• Plan own work and monitor the delivery of calculations and other deliverables.
• Provide project planning or preliminary engineering data when requested, in collaboration with colleagues.
