Job summary

eldoLED, part of Acuity Brands, seeks a manager software engineer with scrum master and product owner responsibilities. You lead a team designing scalable .NET Core/React systems for LED drivers, APIs, and IoT tooling, focusing on performance and maintainability.

You will drive agile practices, mentor engineers, maintain build environments, and introduce new technologies to keep the platform ahead in a global, multi-country context.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science or equivalent by experience.
• 8+ years Agile firmware development experience.
• Strong experience in React JS, C#, .NET Core and OO design.
• Proven ability to design and build scalable systems.
• Experience with REST API design and development.
• Relational database design & modeling experience.
• OAuth/OpenID authentication experience.
• English communication; Dutch is a plus.

We are looking for a manager software engineering with scrum master and product owner responsibilities that loves to work in this challenging environment.

Our products, your drive! The eldoLED software team designs, implements and maintains a suite of software tools. These include backend services and supporting frontend applications developed in .NET Core and ReactJS respectively, enabling the design, configuration, testing, production and end-user interaction with our LED drivers and connected peripheral devices.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

You will take a lead role in designing and building scalable systems and services, with a strong focus on performance, maintainability, and system capacity as well as nurture and grow the team.

• Backend - .NET Core C#
• Frontend - ReactJS
• REST APIs
• MQTT broker integration - .NET Core C#
• Desktop application (Windows) - .NET Core C#

• Mature and maintain build environments, document processes, and testing strategies.
• Perform daily scrum master role.

• Enjoys working with global support teams located in 4 countries.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

• Minimum of a master’s degree in computer science or equivalent by experience.
• Minimum of 8 years Agile firmware development experience.
• Strong experience in React JS, C#, .NET Core and object-oriented design principles
• Proven experience designing and building scalable systems
• Experience with REST API design and development
• Strong experience with relational database design and modeling
• Experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth / OpenID)
• Solid understanding of system performance, scalability and capacity evaluation
• Experience in a variety of programming languages both low/high level
• Eager learner (Acuity PDS processes) with a hands-on and challenging attitude.
• Pro-active result-oriented team player with leadership skills empowering teammates, able to act as sounding board.
• Strong communication skills in English, Dutch brings an advantage.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with MQTT brokers (e.g. EMQX)
• Experience with C# frontend technologies (e.g. Blazor, Avalonia UI)
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g. NUnit)
• Experience with pipelines in Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience with API design tools (Swagger, Postman)
• Experience with defining software architecture and documenting decisions using ADRs (Architectural Decision Records)
• Experience with modern software build environments (eg. versioning systems, regression test suites, automated builds).
• Experience with product owner and scrum master roles.
• Task switcher, working on several features in parallel whilst nurturing the stakeholder relations.
