Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT) in Rotterdam seeks a Senior Manager of Business Controlling to lead budgeting, forecasting, and consolidation aligned with the Hapag-Lloyd Group. You will analyze variances, monitor KPIs, and provide strategic insight at the senior-management level.

The role requires 10+ years in financial controlling, IFRS expertise, and strong English communication. This is a high-impact, leadership position within a global, asset-intensive logistics organization.

Formación

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in financial/business controlling.
• Comfortable with Group Reporting Structures and Consolidating financial statements under IFRS.
• University degree in business or science or similar qualification.
• Highly developed analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and spoken English; German or Spanish an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of BI-tools and ERP systems (QlikView, Infor; SAP CO, COMPASS).
• Proficient in MS Office tools.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct budgeting, financial planning (IBP), investment coordination, and consolidation aligned with the Hapag-Lloyd Group.
• Analyze variances vs forecasts; monitor KPIs and report to management.
• Critique senior management on asset performance and provide recommendations.
• Advise management based on trend, variance, and structure analyses of volume, revenue, costs, and investments.
• Develop and review business models for valuations/divestment purposes.
• Perform ROI calculations for group consolidated entities.
• Ensure month-end closing is accurate and timely.
• Support management with analysis in commercial, operational, and financial matters.
• Prepare and present financial reports; handle ad hoc requests to drive performance.

Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT) is a fully owned subsidiary of Hapag-Lloyd. The Position

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Business Controlling to join our team.

Located in Rotterdam headquarters, the position reports to the Director of Business Controlling.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and coordinate budgeting, financial planning (integrated business planning), investment coordination and consolidation activities in alignment with the Hapag-Lloyd Group;
• Analyze and comment on variances between actual and forecast. Monitor key performance indicators and business performance and creates regular reports to management;
• Constructively critique senior management in relation to asset performance
• Advise management and make suggestions based on regular analysis of trend, variance, and structure of volume, revenue, costs and investment utilization;
• Perform and review business models for valuations/divestment purposes
• Comfortable with conducting return on investment calculation for group consolidated entities
• Ensure month end closing activities are completed accurately and on-time;
• Provide support in terms of analysis and consulting to management, particularly in commercial, operational and financial matters;
• Prepare and present financial reports;
• Support ad hoc requests as needed to drive organizational performance.

Job Requirements

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in financial/business controlling, ideally within container terminals or a similar asset-intensive industry;
• Comfortable with Group Reporting Structures and Consolidating financial statements under the IFRS Reporting Framework;
• University degree in business or science (Bachelor or Master) or similar qualification, coupled with relevant experience – ideally within container terminals;
• Highly developed analytical skills and detail-oriented work style;
• Understanding drivers of productivity, growth, and cost saving initiatives;
• Effective communication and presentation skills;
• Ability to effectively multi-task, manage deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced environment;
• Proven work experience under pressure;
• Strong collaboration skills to manage multiple stakeholders;
• Excellent command of written and spoken English (Spanish or German is an advantage);
• Strong knowledge with relevant BI-tools (e.g. QlikView, Infor) and operational systems (SAP CO, COMPASS);
• Confident in handling MS Office tools.
