Job summary

Capgemini Invent in Utrecht is seeking an AI Architect to lead AI-enabled transformations, design scalable AI architectures, and deliver measurable value for clients. You will partner with executives and engineers to translate AI strategy into production-grade solutions in a hybrid work setting.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in consulting or transformation, hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI, cloud-native AI, and governance considerations, and are fluent in English (Dutch preferred).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in consulting, solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or digital transformation.
• Proven experience designing and delivering AI, Generative AI, and cloud-native solutions.
• Hands-on experience with platforms such as Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Google Gemini, or equivalent AI ecosystems.
• Strong in AI governance, security, privacy, and compliance.

As an AI Architect, you will play a leading role in helping organizations harness the power of Artificial Intelligence to drive transformation, innovation, and business value. You will work closely with senior client stakeholders to define AI strategies, design scalable AI architectures, and deliver solutions that create measurable impact.

Working at the intersection of business and technology, you will translate strategic ambitions into practical, future-proof solutions while guiding organizations through the opportunities and challenges of AI adoption.

In this role you will:

• Drive AI-enabled transformation
• Design and deliver AI-powered solutions that improve customer experiences, increase operational efficiency, and enable new business models.
• Lead end-to-end solution architecture
• Own the architecture of complex AI and digital transformation initiatives, from strategy and business case development through implementation and adoption.
• Act as a trusted advisor
• Build strong relationships with clients and advise executives and senior stakeholders on AI strategy, emerging technologies, and digital innovation.
• Collaborate across disciplines
• Work closely with consultants, designers, data scientists, engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.

AI Solution Design & Architecture

You will increasingly work with cutting-edge AI capabilities and help clients realize value at scale. This includes:

• Identifying opportunities to incorporate AI into existing or new digital products, services, and operating models.

• Designing enterprise-grade Generative AI solutions using modern architectural patterns such as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, vector databases, prompt orchestration, and fine-tuning.

• Developing rapid prototypes, MVPs, and proof-of-concepts to validate technical feasibility and business value.

• Designing secure, scalable, and responsible AI solutions, including governance, compliance, security, and risk management considerations.

• Defining AI operating models, governance frameworks, and adoption roadmaps.

• Helping clients understand both the opportunities and limitations of AI while balancing business value, technical feasibility, and organizational readiness.

• Leading multidisciplinary teams consisting of architects, engineers, consultants, and designers.

A significant part of your role will be helping clients move beyond experimentation and successfully scale AI initiatives into production environments.

Your home base at Capgemini Invent

You will become part of our Business Technology practice, a community of consultants, architects, and technology experts focused on helping organizations transform through technology.

Within Business Technology, we support leading organizations across industries with challenges related to digital transformation, cloud, enterprise architecture, AI strategy, and emerging technologies. AI plays a central role in our growth ambitions and the value we deliver to clients.

You will work in multidisciplinary teams and have access to a global network of experts, thought leaders, and innovators across Capgemini Invent and the wider Capgemini Group.

Business Development

You will be leading proposals, bids, RFPs, client pitch contibutions. You also will help shape innovative offerings and build trusted relationships with clients and be required to deliver new bookings of 1m per annum.

Drive thought leadership, contribute to practice development, mentor colleagues, support recruitment activities, and help grow our AI community.

• Proven track record in business development within a consulting environment, including identifying opportunities, building client relationships, and contributing to proposals, bids, and RFPs.

• Experience with modern AI architectures, including RAG, AI agents, vector search, orchestration frameworks, and LLM integration.

• Strong understanding of Responsible AI, AI governance, security, privacy, and compliance requirements.

• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems.

• Experience managing complex transformation programs and leading multidisciplinary teams.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills at both business and technical levels.

• Bachelor's and master's degree (or equivalent academic level).

• Fluent in English (must have) and Dutch (preferably)

• You are currently living in the Netherlands.

• You possess a valid Dutch and/or EU work authorization and are able to work in the Netherlands
