Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician A to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks and equipment. You will service chassis components, refuse bodies, air brake systems, engines, HVAC, suspension and drive train, both on-site and on the road, with opportunities to learn new technologies.

This role requires strong diagnostic skills, 5–7 years of experience with heavy-duty trucks, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in some subsystems.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• 5-7 years of experience as a technician on heavy-duty trucks.
• Experience performing inspections and repairs on heavy truck systems: Suspensions & Steering, General Engine, Transmissions, Brakes, Electrical, Hydraulics, Drive Train, Diesel Emissions.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• LNG and/or CNG experience is a plus but not required.
• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• Preferred CDL B

Responsibilities

• Maintains advanced knowledge of vehicle components and systems and performs complex repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; Air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Engine repair and diagnostics.
• Diagnose electrical concerns with scan tools.
• Line maintenance, welding and fabrication.
