Job summary

Selby Jennings is assisting a leading international law firm in Amsterdam to recruit a Dutch-qualified M&A lawyer for a private equity–focused team. You will work directly with partners on live, high-quality transactions from day one, taking real ownership of deals and developing client relationships.

The role covers cross-border acquisitions and disposals, buy-outs, carve-outs and restructurings, with opportunities to supervise junior lawyers and collaborate with specialists across Europe.

Qualifications

• 3 to 10 years' PQE in M&A or corporate law at a top Dutch or international firm.
• PE or sponsor-side deal experience, ideally buy-outs, carve-outs or auctions.
• Experience on cross-border transactions.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills and good commercial judgement.
• Fluent English and Dutch. Other European languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise on acquisitions, disposals, carve-outs and restructurings.
• Take part in deals from start to finish, including due diligence and closing.
• Draft and negotiate SPAs, shareholder agreements, and ancillary documents.
• Coordinate with international offices and local counsel on cross-border transactions.
• Supervise, train and develop junior lawyers.
