Job summary

Flynn and Chase in Amsterdam is seeking a (Senior) Associate to join its investment team. You will take real deal responsibility early in a small team with direct access to partners.

You will source opportunities, perform screening and due diligence, build valuation and returns models, and help shape deal structures while collaborating with portfolio management on strategy and performance. AI-enabled tools augment market research and analysis across the firm.

Qualifications

• 2 to 6 years' experience in strategy consulting, investment banking or private equity.
• Sharp analytical skills and a structured way of working.
• Entrepreneurial and inquisitive, with trust-building ability.

Responsibilities

• Source and screen new opportunities, then run due diligence, build valuation and returns models and help shape deal structures.
• Work with management teams after acquisition on strategy, organisational build-out and performance tracking.
• Run add-on programmes at portfolio platforms from target mapping through to closing and integration.
• Use AI-enabled tools to speed up market mapping, company research and analysis.
• Be a day-to-day contact for founders, lenders and advisers throughout each process.

I am working with a partner-led Dutch private equity firm that is adding a (Senior) Associate to its Amsterdam investment team. The team is small by design, which means real deal responsibility early on and a direct line to the partners.

ABOUT THE FIRM

• Invests from a fully committed fund in the €300-500m range, backed by international institutions and well-known local entrepreneurs
• Buys profitable, asset-light B2B companies in the Netherlands built on specialist know-how, often still founder-led
• Sector focus on IT and business services, specialist technical components and products customers depend on every day
• Typical targets have EBITDA in the mid-single-digit to mid-teens millions at entry, with equity tickets of several tens of millions per platform
• Senior partners with decades of combined buyout experience in the Dutch mid-market, supported by a network of experienced CEOs and operators
• First platform deals are done, with add-ons already following

YOUR PROFILE

• 2 to 6 years' experience gained in strategy consulting, investment banking or private equity, with the title matched to your background
• Sharp analytical skills and a structured way of working, paired with a practical, solution-oriented attitude
• Entrepreneurial and inquisitive, happy to dig into the detail in a small team
• A high EQ and the ability to earn the trust of founders, management teams and colleagues
• Grounded, with high intellectual standards, and motivated by growing together with the team and its companies
