Job summary

MYLAPS Sports Timing in Haarlem invites a Java Software Developer to join a new team building a greenfield platform that analyzes racers' performance in real time across car racing, motorcycle racing, RC racing and more.

You will work with colleagues across iOS, Android, and web, partner with a Product Owner, and occasionally visit events to validate software accuracy and impact. Strong English communication, startup mindset, and cloud know-how are valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java development experience, preferably with Spring Boot.
• Experience building new products in a start-up or greenfield setting.
• Ability to design software architecture and adopt new technologies.
• Vue.js front-end experience is a plus; strong English communication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to build a new real-time platform for racers.
• Develop greenfield modules across backend, frontend, and integration layers.
• Work with iOS, Android, and web specialists and QA to ensure quality.
• Occasionally visit events to validate software accuracy and relevance.

The role

Our Software Development team works on several products:

• Motorsports (Speedhive)
• Active Sports (Sporthive)
• New application & platform development

As aJavaSoftware Developer, you will become part of a new team that is working on greenfield projects within the MYLAPS motorizes sports business.

What You'll Do

Together with your team, you will build a new platform where racers analyze their racing performance. Thisallin real time from car racing and motorcycle racing to RC racing and many other disciplines:your work supports motorsport at every level.

In this multidisciplinary team you will find colleagues with specializations in IOS, Android and Web development, as well as a QA Engineer working closely together with our Product Owner.

Since we like to understand what our software means to racers, this position offers the chance to visit small and large scale sporting events to fully understand the accuracy and meaning of our software.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of Software Development experience with Java and preferably Springboot.
• Experience in a start-up / new product development environment where you need to build new software products from scratch
• The ability to think about architecture & implement new technologies
• Front-end Development experience in Vue.js is seen as a plus.
• Strong (technical) communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
• Passion for technology and sport.
• Cloud experience, preferably Azure, is a bonus.
