Job summary

Adyen in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Java Application Core Components (JACC) team. You will design, build, and evolve core Java frameworks used across Adyen's Java applications, and contribute to large-scale migrations that shape our architecture.

Join a lean team of 6 Java experts, work in Kanban style, collaborate with Kubernetes, security, and platform teams, and mentor others while driving best practices and code quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Java backend development.
• Strong skills in core Java and code/API design.
• Track record of building high-quality software with testing at all levels.
• Communicative, proactive team player who can influence with a multiplier mindset.
• Able to drive initiatives and align stakeholders with customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve internal and open source Java frameworks and components used by all Java teams at Adyen.
• Support one or more migrations reshaping Adyen's application architecture.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to engineering teams on framework usage to solve business problems.
• Design and evolve workflows for engineering teams, identifying pain points and improvements.
• Collaborate with Kubernetes, deployment, and security teams to ensure integration across the stack.
• Advocate best practices by creating code validation rules, workshops, and presentations.
