Job summary

JD Ross Energy in the Netherlands is seeking an experienced HV Test Manager to lead and expand onshore HV testing and cable termination activities. The role combines deep technical testing expertise with leadership to manage multiple teams and build scalable processes.

You will own testing methodologies, supervise field operations, and drive standards across substations and underground cable projects, engaging with renewables and utilities customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience within High Voltage testing, commissioning or related activities.
• Strong background in: High Voltage testing, cable termination, Partial Discharge (PD) testing.
• Experience with: substations, underground cable systems, field testing and commissioning, testing processes and operations.
• Knowledge of the operation/setup of mobile resonance trucks.
• Previous experience in offshore wind, onshore wind, utilities, transmission or power infrastructure environments is beneficial.
• Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor engineering teams.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to help build and grow a business function.
• Dutch language skills are advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and further develop the company's HV testing and cable termination activities.
• Act as the technical authority for high-voltage testing, commissioning and field operations.
• Take ownership of testing methodologies, technical procedures and quality standards.
• Provide expertise in Partial Discharge (PD) testing, diagnostics and asset integrity assessment.
• Manage and support testing activities involving: High-voltage substations, underground cable systems, cable termination works, field testing and commissioning activities.
• Oversee testing operations utilising mobile resonance testing equipment.
• Support the continued expansion of the company's onshore testing division.
• Provide technical leadership to approximately 10-20 engineers and technicians across multiple teams.
• Drive operational excellence, process improvements and technical best practice across the business.
• Collaborate closely with customers across the renewables, utilities and infrastructure sectors.
