Job summary

Alfen is seeking a Discipline Expert Hardware within Electric Vehicle Charging (EVC). You will lead a team of eight hardware engineers, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with the EVC roadmap.

You will own EMC testing capabilities and prototype assembly, shaping standards and capabilities across the hardware discipline. You will collaborate with Platform Team and Technical Product Managers, and bring extensive hands-on hardware development experience to a regulated environment while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Embedded Systems or a related technical field with at least 10 years in hardware development.
• Proven hands-on hardware development experience across design to production.
• Experience in multidisciplinary product development within matrix/project environments.
• Experience bringing products from initial design/prototype to series production.
• Experience in regulated environments prioritizing quality, safety and reliability.
• Experience coaching and developing engineers.
• Professional proficiency in Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hardware discipline with technical excellence and alignment to EVC’s roadmap.
• Provide expert guidance on complex hardware challenges and critical decisions.
• Manage and develop a team of about eight hardware engineers.
• Own EMC testing capabilities and prototype assembly line (SMD) responsibility.
• Standard-setting, knowledge development and capacity alignment with roadmap.
• Collaborate with Platform Team, Technical Product Managers and R&D disciplines.
