Job summary

Philips Innovation & Design (I&D) invites a Senior GPU Engineer to join the Digital Processing team, focusing on embedded medical devices and AI-driven image processing. You will develop GPU-accelerated firmware and processing pipelines using CUDA and C++ for production-grade medical systems.

You will collaborate across hardware, firmware, systems, and AI teams, optimize latency and throughput, and contribute to scalable, high-quality product solutions.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• Expert in object-oriented design and patterns with high-performance software experience.
• Deep experience in GPU programming and CUDA performance optimization.
• Profiling and performance-analysis across CPU, GPU, memory, and synchronization boundaries.
• Strong mathematical foundation; experience in signal/image processing or scientific computing preferred.
• Experience with embedded compute platforms or hardware-software co-design a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize high-performance C++ and CUDA software for GPU-accelerated processing.
• Translate complex signal and image processing algorithms into efficient GPU implementations.
• Analyze algorithms to drive performance improvements via optimization and kernel fusion.
• Profile and optimize CUDA workloads, memory access, and data transfers.
• Collaborate with FPGA, electronics, firmware, systems, and AI engineers to integrate GPU processing into architectures.
