Philips Iberica SAU in Best, Netherlands, is seeking a Senior Web Back End Developer for the Azurion Eye platform to build REST-based, microservice-first backend services and data‑curation workflows powering our clinical data lake and movement tooling.

You will provide technical leadership, design secure backend services, and develop scalable data pipelines while ensuring governance, reliability, and compliance in a regulated healthcare environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years end-to-end software development experience.
Strong backend expertise in Golang and REST API design.
Experience with event-driven architectures (NATS/Kafka/RabbitMQ), Linux environments, and containerized microservices (Docker/Kubernetes).
Solid database design and performance tuning skills (PostgreSQL/MS SQL).
Strong collaboration and leadership skills, with ability to mentor engineers in agile environments.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and coaching, driving engineering best practices, quality standards, and scalable design across the team.
Design and build secure, compliant backend services and microservices supporting clinical data platforms and data movement.
Develop scalable data pipelines and extend data lake architecture to ensure performance, governance, and reliability.
Ensure system quality through code reviews, performance optimization, testing automation, CI/CD, and observability.
Maintain operational excellence by integrating components and resolving production issues (e.g., ingestion failures, schema drift, performance bottlenecks).
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (product, UX/design, QA, data/AI, and engineering teams) to define, design, and ship features aligned with clinical and platform needs.
