Job summary

ZeroTier, Inc. is seeking a Senior Back-End Engineer to architect and implement core features of our distributed Central Management Portal.

You will design, extend RESTful APIs in Go and contribute to frontend when needed, taking ownership of feature delivery and maintaining secure, scalable services. You'll work closely with engineers to power a high-performance platform, operate backend systems including PostgreSQL, Pub/Sub, and OpenFGA, and continuously improve security, testing, and CI/CD

Qualifications

• Senior level experience building and owning distributed systems at scale.
• Advanced knowledge of Go service development and backend best practices.
• Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, ship and iterate on API endpoints and backend services in Go.
• Own the design and evolution of the public and internal APIs.
• Collaborate with engineers to power great user experiences in the Central Portal.
• Develop and operate backend systems using PostgreSQL, Pub/Sub, and OpenFGA.
• Bake in security and testing from day one to keep services safe as we scale.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and observability to move fast with confidence.
• Serve as a senior technical reference through code reviews and mentorship.
