Job summary

MG Motor Europe is seeking an experienced GL accounting professional to support our Finance team in the Netherlands. The role focuses on maintaining accurate and timely financial recordings and supporting month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings.

You will drive PAN-EU consolidation, coordinate EU month-end closings, and ensure compliance across multiple EU entities, with responsibilities including VAT, intrastat, reporting, and audits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in finance and accounting.
• 3+ years in a GL/accounting role.
• Data processing and reporting using SAP and Excel.
• Excellent English communication; Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

The main duties of the role are to maintain accurate and timely financial recordings, to support monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, and to ensure compliance across multiple EU entities.

Job Responsibilities

• PAN-EU support and consolidation;

• Maintain organized records and documentation for audits and reporting;
• Perform day-to-day financial transactions;
• Responsible for the period close, controlling, and accruals;
• Post payroll journals;
• Reclass and communicate internally;
• Manage the balance sheet control;
• Report the P&L and cash flow;
• Assist in the annual reports and in other ad hoc management reports;
• Back up all VAT and intrastat fillings.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations; a degree in Finance is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in finance/accounting; 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Good data processing skills using SAP, Excel, and other data sources.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal English; Dutch is a plus.
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic to contribute to team goals, with a strong desire for continuous learning.
