Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Geospatial Machine Learning Engineer based in the Netherlands for a fully remote role. You will work on vegetation modeling using satellite imagery, leading projects from planning to delivery across Europe and the Americas.

The role combines hands-on ML with technical ownership, focusing on production-ready vegetation intelligence products and scalable data pipelines in a climate tech setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist, or in a closely related role, with production ML/DL models.
• Proven experience developing computer vision or deep learning models using satellite or aerial imagery.
• Strong proficiency in Python and geospatial Python libraries such as rasterio, geopandas, shapely, GDAL, or equivalent technologies.
• Solid understanding of geospatial data structures, formats, processing workflows, and analysis techniques.
• Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or comparable tools.
• Experience designing data pipelines using orchestration tools such as Dagster, Airflow, dbt.
• Experience with QGIS or similar geospatial software.
• Knowledge of model evaluation, monitoring, and debugging in production.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy vegetation intelligence products using ML, deep learning, computer vision, geospatial libraries, and large-scale imagery.
• Explore geospatial datasets, optimize models, and troubleshoot production issues.
• Lead technical projects end-to-end from planning through delivery and evaluation.
• Develop measurement frameworks, evaluation tooling, and performance metrics for model impact.
• Monitor production models and investigate performance issues with observability tools.
• Collaborate with data ingestion teams to influence pipelines and platform architecture.
• Partner with product teams to deliver geospatial ML outputs to customers.
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders and share best practices.
