Senior Firmware Engineer - Secure Boot / Embedded Systems
We are partnered with a fast growing semiconductor start-up in the Netherlands working on cutting‑edge secure CPU technologies. The team is looking to bring on a skilled Firmware Engineer. You’ll play a key role in developing high‑performance, secure firmware for next‑generation products, covering the full development life‑cycle — from pre‑silicon validation to post‑silicon bring‑up.
This is a permanent opportunity based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and debug firmware for ARM Cortex‑M microcontrollers and peripherals.
- Build reliable, maintainable code and APIs that adhere to strong software design principles.
- Contribute to pre‑ and post‑silicon validation and system bring‑up.
- Collaborate with hardware, architecture, and cross‑functional teams to optimize system performance.
- Implement secure firmware features, including secure boot and embedded security mechanisms.
- Integrate IoT and networking stacks (TCP/IP, Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, Matter, Thread) for connected devices.
Key Requirements
- 5+ years of firmware development experience in embedded systems.
- Strong expertise with ARM Cortex‑M processors and peripherals.
- Experience with unit testing, firmware validation, and both pre‑ and post‑silicon development.
- Solid understanding of API design, maintainable code, and software architecture principles.
- Hands‑on experience with IoT/networking stacks (TCP/IP, Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, Matter, Thread).
