Job summary

Hypersolid is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to join the Finance Team across our Dutch, US, and Poland entities. You will own daily financial operations, closing cycles, group consolidation, and statutory reporting, while ensuring CIT/VAT compliance and intercompany alignment.

You will report to the Manager Accounting, mentor team members, and play a key role in cross-border finance operations with a clear path to senior leadership within 1–2 years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in finance/accounting.
• 5+ years in accounting, financial control, or audit.
• Experience in an international environment.
• Experience coaching/mentoring finance professionals.
• Strong understanding of Dutch GAAP and tax compliance (CIT, VAT).
• Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with fast-paced delivery.
• Fluency in English and Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day financial operations and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
• Lead group-wide consolidation and prepare statutory financial statements (Dutch GAAP/SFA).
• Manage CIT and VAT filings in cooperation with tax advisors.
• Oversee intercompany invoicing and align intercompany transactions.
• Act as a primary contact for external auditors.
• Mentor Accounting Team members and deputize for Manager Accounting as needed.
• Identify and drive process improvements and automation for scalability.

Job description

At Hypersolid, we're looking for an experienced, driven Senior Financial Controller to strengthen our Finance Team. You'll work closely with the Manager Accounting and the broader Finance Team, owning day-to-day financial operations, periodic closings, group consolidation, statutory reporting, and tax compliance across our group entities.

Hypersolid's finance organization spans the Netherlands, the US, and Poland, so you'll work across borders from day one. This role has a clear path to a more senior position within 1-2 years, as you take on increasing responsibility.

What are you going to do?

• Take ownership of day-to-day financial operations, and support and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes across the Finance Team
• Lead group-wide consolidation and take ownership of preparing annual statutory financial statements, both individual and consolidated, in compliance with Dutch GAAP and statutory financial accounting (SFA) standards
• Manage corporate income tax (CIT) and VAT filings, maintaining strong relationships with tax advisors to ensure full compliance
• Manage intercompany invoicing and ensure proper alignment of intercompany transactions
• Act as a key point of contact for external auditors
• Deputize for the Manager Accounting where needed, progressively taking on team leadership and stakeholder responsibilities with the Board, Supervisory Board, and financial institutions as the role grows
• Identify and drive process improvements, including automation opportunities, to support a scalable finance function
• Support and mentor the other Accounting Team members

Who are we looking for?

• A completed bachelor's or master's degree with a solid financial foundation
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial control, or audit, preferably in an international environment
• Experience coaching or mentoring finance professionals
• Strong understanding of tax compliance and fiscal reporting requirements, including CIT and VAT
• In-depth knowledge of Dutch GAAP and financial reporting standards
• A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Fluent in English and Dutch
