Job summary

Hypersolid is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to strengthen the Finance Team. You will own day-to-day financial operations, lead consolidation, and ensure Dutch GAAP compliance across group entities from offices in Alkmaar and Amsterdam with home-office flexibility.

You will collaborate with Tax Advisors and external Auditors, mentoring others while driving process improvements and automation in a fast-paced, multinational environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance or accounting.
• 5+ years in accounting, financial control, or audit in an international environment.
• Experience coaching finance professionals.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP and tax compliance (CIT, VAT).
• Hands-on entrepreneurial mindset, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in English and Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day financial operations and coordinate month/quarter/year-end closings.
• Lead group-wide consolidation and prepare annual statutory financial statements per Dutch GAAP.
• Manage CIT and VAT filings and liaise with tax advisors.
• Oversee intercompany invoicing and align intercompany transactions.
• Act as main contact for external auditors.
• Contribute to post-M&A integration and scalable financial framework.
• Deputize for Manager Accounting; take on leadership and stakeholder responsibilities.
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Mentor other Accounting Team members.

Job description

You want more than a controller title. You want the actual runway to become the finance leader Hypersolid needs next. At Hypersolid, we're looking for an experienced, driven Senior Financial Controller to strengthen our Finance Team. You'll work closely with the Manager Accounting and the broader Finance Team, owning day-to-day financial operations, periodic closings, group consolidation, statutory reporting, and tax compliance across our group entities.

Hypersolid's finance organization spans the Netherlands, the US, and Poland, so you'll work across borders from day one. This role has a clear path to a more senior position within 1-2 years, as you take on increasing responsibility.

What are you going to do?

• Take ownership of day-to-day financial operations, and support and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes across the Finance Team
• Lead group-wide consolidation and take ownership of preparing annual statutory financial statements, both individual and consolidated, in compliance with Dutch GAAP and statutory financial accounting (SFA) standards
• Manage corporate income tax (CIT) and VAT filings, maintaining strong relationships with tax advisors to ensure full compliance
• Manage intercompany invoicing and ensure proper alignment of intercompany transactions
• Act as a key point of contact for external auditors
• Contribute to post-M&A integration projects and the development of a robust, scalable financial framework
• Deputize for the Manager Accounting where needed, progressively taking on team leadership and stakeholder responsibilities (Board, Supervisory Board, financial institutions) as the role grows
• Identify and drive process improvements, including automation opportunities, to support a scalable finance function
• Support and mentor the other Accounting Team members

Who are we looking for?

• A completed bachelor's or master's degree with a solid financial foundation
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial control, or audit, preferably in an international environment
• Experience coaching or mentoring finance professionals
• Strong understanding of tax compliance and fiscal reporting requirements, including CIT and VAT
• In-depth knowledge of Dutch GAAP and financial reporting standards
• A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Fluent in English and Dutch
