Job summary

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years in a trading, macro research, volatility, options, or strategy-focused role.
• Strong understanding of European financial markets and macro factors influencing equity indices, volatility, rates, FX, and risk sentiment.
• Experience analyzing equity index products, options, volatility, futures, spreads, or related instruments.
• Proven ability to translate macro events, political developments, and market headlines into practical trading implications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for fast-moving market conditions.
• Sound judgment, independent views with feedback from traders and analysts.
• Collaborative mindset to work with traders, analysts, and global teams.

Responsibilities

• Generate actionable trading ideas and market analysis across European equity index volatility, options, spreads, futures, and related instruments.
• Develop and maintain scenario analyses around key market-moving events (data releases, central bank meetings, elections, geopolitical developments).
• Monitor global and European macro themes; assess policy, growth, inflation, rates, FX, and risk sentiment impacts on volatility.
• Provide timely, clear updates on drivers during European trading hours and out-of-hours sessions.
• React quickly to breaking news, assess outcomes, market impact, and trading opportunities in real time.
• Work with traders to evaluate risk/reward, refine hypotheses, and develop macro-driven strategies.
• Contribute to discussions on macro-driven positions, market themes, and PnL drivers across markets.
• Own specific research areas, playbooks, or market coverage themes.
• Ensure strong operational coverage of events, sessions, and trader needs with disciplined prep.
• Collaborate with IMC analyst teams in Amsterdam, Chicago, Sydney, and Mumbai to share insights.
• Support junior analysts by sharing knowledge and improving processes.
• Continuously improve analytical tools, event prep, communication formats, and idea generation.
