IMC’s Amsterdam team seeks a Senior Macro Analyst to own insights across European equity index volatility and related markets. You will generate trading ideas, build event-driven scenarios, and translate macro developments into actionable guidance for traders.

You will collaborate with global teams, refine macro-driven strategies, and contribute to evolving risk assessments while maintaining clear, decisive communication under time pressure.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years in trading, macro research, volatility, options, or strategy‑focused role.
• Strong understanding of European markets and macro/political drivers.
• Experience analyzing equity index products, options, volatility, futures or related instruments.
• Translate macro events into practical trading implications.
• Strong scenario analysis with probabilities and market impact.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; concise under pressure.
• Sound judgment with independent views and trader feedback.
• Collaborative mindset across traders and global teams.
• Ownership, curiosity, and proactive process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Generate actionable trading ideas and market analysis on European equity index volatility, options, spreads, futures.
• Develop scenario analyses around key events and macro themes.
• Monitor macro themes and assess impact on volatility and related markets.
• Provide timely market updates during European trading hours and after-hours sessions.
• React quickly to breaking news, assess outcomes, and identify trading opportunities.
• Work with traders to evaluate risk/reward and refine hypotheses.
• Contribute to macro-driven positions and evolving risk awareness.
• Own research areas, playbooks, and coverage themes.
• Ensure strong event coverage through disciplined prep and clear communication.
• Collaborate with IMC teams globally to share insights and align views.
• Support junior analysts and improve team processes and tools.
