Job summary

Royal Van Lent, onderdeel van Feadship, zoekt een kabelgoten ingenieur voor complexe jachten. Je neemt ownership over de complete kabelgoten engineering en zorgt voor efficiënte installatie en onderhoud op maat.

Samen met structurele, outfitting, HVAC en mechanische disciplines ontwikkel je routing, produceer je layouts en lijst je equipment op. Je coacht minder ervaren engineers en draagt bij aan engineering best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-/hbo-diploma in Elektrotechniek of Marine Technik of vergelijkbaar technical discipline.
• Minimaal 3 jaar ervaring in marine electrical engineering, bij voorkeur jachtbouw of scheepsbouw.
• Aantoonbare ervaring met kabelgoten routing voor complexe schepen.

Responsibilities

• Neem eigenaarschap over de complete kabelgoten engineering binnen een of meerdere jachtprojecten.
• Ontwikkel kabelgoten routing in samenwerking met structurele, outfitting, HVAC, pijp- en mechanische disciplines.
• Produceer detaillierte kabelgoot lay-outs, paneelplannen en installatie tekeningen voor efficiënte productie en installatie.
• Beheer equipment lijsten en engineering data; zorg voor consistentie tussen tekeningen, 3D-modellen en documentatie.
• Identificeer routing clashes vroegtijdig en bedenk praktische engineering oplossingen binnen beperkte ruimte aan boord.
• Neem deel aan multidisciplinaire ontwerpbeoordelingen en modelchecks volgens projectvereisten en standaarden.
• Ondersteun de integratie van elektrische panelen en kabelinfrastructuur met behoud van toegankelijkheid en installatiekwaliteit.
• Begeleid minder ervaren engineers en draag bij aan best practices binnen de afdeling.

Introductie

Design the cable tray infrastructure for some of the world’s most technically advanced custom super yachts.

Functie

What you will do

In this role, you’ll be responsible for routing solutions that have a direct impact on buildability, installation efficiency and long-term maintainability.

• Take ownership of the complete cable tray engineering scope within one or more super yacht projects.
• Develop cable tray routing in close coordination with structural, outfitting, HVAC, piping and mechanical engineering disciplines.
• Produce detailed cable tray layouts, panel plans and installation drawings that ort efficient production and onboard installation.
• Manage equipment lists and engineering data, ensuring consistency between drawings, 3D models and project documentation.
• Identify routing clashes early and develop practical engineering solutions within the limited space available onboard custom-built yachts.
• Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and model checks, ensuring compliance with project requirements, class rules and Royal Van Lent engineering standards.
• Support the integration of electrical panels, cable infrastructure and associated equipment while maintaining accessibility, serviceability and installation quality.
• Coach less experienced engineers and contribute to engineering best practices within the department.

Functie-eisen

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree (BSc/HBO) in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
• At least three years of experience in marine electrical engineering, preferably within yacht building or complex shipbuilding.
• Proven experience developing cable tray routing for complex vessels.
• Experience preparing cable tray layouts, panel plans and equipment lists.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Cadmatic and Teamcenter.
• Solid understanding of marine electrical systems, shipbuilding processes and applicable class requirements.
• Able to coordinate engineering activities across multiple technical disciplines.
• Strong analytical skills with a practical approach to solving routing and integration challenges.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
