Job summary

SIRE LIFE SCIENCES in the Netherlands seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical operations, ensure system integrity, and drive compliance with Dutch standards across capital and maintenance projects.

You will review designs, manage contractors, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, reliable plant performance in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Mandatory certification in NEN 3140; NEN 1010 experience preferred.
• Several years of experience in industrial, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience supporting both operational and capital project activities.
• Strong knowledge of low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems.
• Familiarity with managing contractors and working within regulated environments.
• Fluency in English; Dutch language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the electrical expert for daily site operations, ensuring all electrical systems are operated, maintained, and modified safely and in compliance with Dutch regulations (including NEN 3140 and NEN 1010), internal standards, and EHS policies.
• Assist in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolving electrical failures or deviations in operational processes.
• Manage electrical work permits, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and contractor activities to uphold safety standards.
• Support and oversee electrical aspects of capital projects, from initial design review and approval to execution and handover.
• Review electrical designs, specifications, and drawings to ensure they meet engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and engineering partners during project delivery, commissioning, and system handovers.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including asset registers and electrical dossiers, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities for improving system reliability, energy efficiency, and ease of maintenance, supporting best practice sharing across the organisation.
• Participate in safety assessments, risk evaluations, and audits to ensure ongoing compliance and operational safety.
