Job summary

LIGANOVA . The BrandRetail Company in Amsterdam is seeking a Design Manager (all genders) with a strong technical backbone to bridge creative vision and feasible production for high-end retail projects.

This on-site role requires regular office presence in Amsterdam. You will translate briefs into retail campaigns and window installations, craft high-quality renders and precise technical drawings (CAD/Rhino), drive material selection, and define scalable construction standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in 3D, retail, or exhibition design.
• Prototyping and technical production knowledge.
• Deep knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods with production awareness.

Responsibilities

• Translate creative briefings into retail campaigns and window installations.
• Create high-quality renders, precise technical drawings (CAD/Rhino) and production-ready documents within budget and timelines.
• Drive material selection (wood, metal, sustainable options) and define feasible, scalable construction standards.
• Act as quality control for production sheets and prototypes, providing technical guidance to production partners and internal prototyping.
• Work closely with Project Management, Production, and clients to ensure a smooth workflow from design to set-up.
• Visit locations to check technical possibilities and oversee installations of window displays and in-store activations across Europe.

WHAT YOU DO

• You translate creative briefings into retail campaigns and window installations.
• You create high-quality renders, precise technical drawings (CAD/Rhino) and production-ready documents within budget and timelines.
• You drive material selection (wood, metal, sustainable options) and define feasible, scalable construction standards.
• You act as quality control for production sheets and prototypes, providing technical guidance to production partners and internal prototyping.
• You work closely with Project Management, Production, and clients to ensure a smooth workflow from design to set-up.
• You visit locations to check technical possibilities and oversee installations of window displays and in-store activations across Europe.

WHO YOU ARE

• You hold a degree in Product/Industrial Design, Architecture, Engineering, or a related technical design field, like theatre/stage construction.
• You have 2+ years of professional experience in 3D, retail, or exhibition design, with deep knowledge of prototyping and technical production.
• You are an expert in Rhino and KeyShot/Enscape, proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office, and open to AI solutions in the design process.
• You possess deep knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods, balancing high aesthetic requirements with production constraints.
• You communicate confidently in English - knowledge of German, Dutch, or French is a strong plus.
• You are a solution-oriented, pragmatic thinker who stays calm under pressure and is motivated to accompany installations on-site.

Please note that this is an on-site role that requires regular office presence in Amsterdam; full remote work is not possible.
