Job summary

Flow Traders in Amsterdam seeks a Senior Data Platform Engineer to lead the Data Platform team. You will own distributed data platforms that act as the source of truth for proprietary research data and the context layer for AI agents, collaborating with Quants and researchers to enable trusted, explorable data.

You will design data models, storage formats and processing patterns, ensure reliability and cost efficiency, and build governance tools for AI data quality and access control.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating data platforms in production.
• Fundamentals-based design decisions balancing latency, cost and simplicity.
• Strong data modelling and data warehousing experience with analytical engines.

Responsibilities

• Own performance at scale for distributed data platforms.
• Build and maintain platform capabilities used by quants and researchers.
• Shape data landscape: modelling, storage formats and processing patterns.
• Run and improve operations; develop tooling and runbooks.
• Enable governance, data catalog, lineage and quality rules for AI.
