Job summary

Eneco is seeking an Experienced Data Engineer for the AgroEnergy team in the Netherlands. You will design, build, and improve cloud-native data solutions in Azure, powering forecasting, energy optimization, and trading decisions for agricultural clients and B2B Flex Services.

You will lead technical direction, mentor peers, and drive platform modernization, including migrations to Snowflake and integration with Iceberg tables, while ensuring alignment with Eneco's security and compliance

Qualifications

• Strong data engineering background in Azure cloud environments or C# data backend development.
• Proficiency in C# or equivalent for data-intensive workloads.
• Hands-on experience with Azure services: Data Factory, Functions, SQL Database, and DevOps.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to optimize complex queries.
• Dutch language proficiency required; English or Dutch acceptable for speaking/writing

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines from ingestion to exposure.
• Develop predictive data flows for forecasting and energy optimization, including EPEX day-ahead forecasting upgrades.
• Build and optimize a dimensional data warehouse used for analytics and Power BI reporting.
• Lead migration toward Snowflake and align Azure landscape with policy and compliance standards.
• Provide technical direction, mentor engineers, and drive platform modernization.
