ING is seeking a Data Engineer for the WBAA Discovery team. You will turn ambiguous business questions into practical analytics solutions and frame problems with stakeholders.

You will build scalable data pipelines, prototype rapidly, and translate findings into clear recommendations with handover packages for building teams. Hybrid work with security and governance aligned to ING standards.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python and data engineering for scalable pipelines.
• Experience with Spark, Airflow, and data quality frameworks.
• Able to prototype quickly and translate results into actionable recommendations.
• Skilled in cloud-based deployment, CI/CD, and containerization (Docker).
• Familiar with LLM integration, RAG patterns, prompts, and vector databases.

Responsibilities

• Frame business problems with stakeholders and define clear requirements.
• Explore data feasibility and design scalable data pipelines.
• Develop rapid PoCs and prototypes.
• Translate findings into structured handover packages for build teams.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, UX, and product owners in a fast-paced discovery environment.
