As Data Engineer at BigData Republic you'll consult the biggest companies in the Netherlands on complex challenges. Roll up your sleeves to write production ready code, advise on business decisions or coach your team to the next level.

About you

So you’ve built your career by engineering data systems. You like to roll up your sleeves while taking an advisory role with quality and scalability in mind. You are an experienced Data Engineer, supporting everything and everyone around you, while people have a hard time defining what it exactly is that you do. And you are interested in a new challenge.

• We develop data applications, create predictive models, build data platforms and design infrastructures. We have a strong focus on technical expertise, a software engineering mindset and way-of-working.
• Knowledge sharing and thought leadership are fundamental pillars of our organization. Every Friday we host knowledge sharing sessions at our office. We write blog posts, organize meetups and visit conferences.

About the job

You spend your week working four days on your client project. The remaining day to work on something cool/your initiative with your BigData Republic colleagues. Can you think of something already?

• We work with a wide range of clients. Their needs vary in scope and complexity.
• Regular knowledge-sharing sessions, about the most pressing challenges in our field and projects.
• +20 colleagues with a wide range of expertise and experience. They will gladly discuss use cases and solutions with you.

Technical expertise

You match if you have experience with some, or all of the tools listed below:

• Platform design and engineering
• (Meta)Data Management and Data Governance
• Cloud environments AWS, GCP, and Azure
• Programming languages such as Python, Scala, Kotlin, and SQL
• DevOps tools and skills: Building CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker/Podman, Terraform
• Data Warehousing and Analysis: BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, DBT
