About the Role

We're recruiting a freelance Data Engineer to join a large-scale corporate data & analytics department. You’ll work in a cross-functional Scrum team building data solutions that support decision-making across Finance and HR functions.

Team Setup

You’ll join a dedicated Data Team (9 developers, PO, Scrum Master) within a broader analytics organization of ~40 professionals, including specialists in analytics, dashboarding, enterprise planning, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, future-proof data products for dashboards, analytics, and forecasting
• Develop models and solutions aligned with enterprise data architecture
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate needs into actionable insights
• Implement monitoring, quality control, and documentation processes
• Configure metadata-driven pipelines

Skills & Experience (Must-Haves)

• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Studio, and Azure SQL
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric
• Strong knowledge of data modeling (e.g., star schema)
• Proficient in SQL
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum teams with DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Git)
• Fluent in Dutch and English

Nice-to-Haves

• Knowledge of C#, PowerShell, SSIS, SSAS
• Understanding of Finance and HR data domains

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Ability to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
• Brings fresh, external perspectives and collaborates well across teams
