Job description

We are looking for a Senior Data Architect to design scalable, future‑proof customer data landscapes for leading mid‑market and enterprise clients.

As a Data Architect at Assist Digital, you design the data architecture that enables consistent, high‑quality and real‑time data across organisations.

You operate across a client’s data landscape, defining how data is structured, governed and distributed to support both operational processes and a clear unified view of the customer. You bring clarity where systems, teams and data sources are complex and need to work together.

You act as a senior advisor to clients on data and integration strategy, aligning stakeholders across various business departments and translating architectural direction into implementable solutions. You also contribute to raising the architectural maturity of the team through mentoring and knowledge sharing.

You will further deepen your expertise in known and widely used data and integration platforms including our proprietary operational data platform Nominow.

Key responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

• Contribute to pre‑sales and solution design: RFPs, architecture proposals and technical discovery workshops.

• Translate complex client requirements into clear, implementable architecture decisions and pro‑actively align stakeholders.

• Lead data architecture design on client engagements from discovery and current‑state assessment, through to solution design and implementation.

• Define conceptual and logical data models for operational, governance and analytical contexts.

• Define end‑to‑end data flows across the data ecosystem and advise clients on data processes and integration strategy in complex environments.

• Establish and enforce data governance, quality and MDM principals.

• Design integration architectures connecting operational systems, data platforms and downstream activation tools.

• Hands‑on work across a range of data platforms and integration technologies including our proprietary operational data platform Nominow.

• Collaborate with consultants, engineers and product specialists across the Assist Digital group to deliver integrated solutions.

• Support delivery teams and mentor colleagues in architecture practices.

Your profile

• 6+ years in data architecture, data engineering or a senior technical data role. Preferably in a consultancy or client‑facing context.

• Strong track record in designing scalable data models for operational systems.

• Technical experience with well known cloud data and integrations platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Mulesoft.

• Hands‑on experience with core data and integration technologies such as SQL, stored procedures, cloud fundamentals (e.g., Azure, GCP or AWS), JSON structures, REST/SOAP API, SFTP‑based file transfer and ELT patterns. Python experience is a plus.

• Experience designing integration architectures: API‑led, event‑driven and ETL/batch patterns.

• Solid understanding of data governance and master data management concepts such as deduplication, entity resolution and golden record management.

• Comfortable leading technical conversations with both engineers and non‑technical client stakeholders.

• Able to operate at enterprise level across business and technology domains.

• A genuine curiosity about AI and its practical use in projects. Having relevant experience is a plus.

• Ownership mindset with strong architectural judgement.

• At least a professional working proficiency in English and ideally Dutch.
