Job summary

bol.com is expanding its Advertising Analytics team in the Netherlands. As Senior Data Analyst – Business Analytics, you’ll join 20+ analysts, framing questions, building analyses, and driving decisions that change how the business acts.

You’ll use SQL and Python daily, apply causal inference and econometrics, mentor juniors, and push for deeper insights rather than dashboards alone. You will collaborate with leadership, finance, sales, marketing and business development to shape strategy and

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on analytics experience.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with causal inference, econometrics, and full tech stack.
• Ability to turn ambiguous questions into shipped insights and land them with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own analyses end-to-end: from framing an ambiguous business question with a stakeholder to shipping the analysis and staying involved until it changes a decision
• Build and maintain driver trees and financial narratives that explain how advertising revenue moves, and why
• Dive deep into the performance of our advertising propositions, developing domain expertise stakeholders come to rely on
• Apply causal inference, statistical, or econometric methods where correlation isn't good enough — and recognize when it isn't needed
• Use AI to eliminate the low-value repetitive parts of your work, and reinvest that time into deeper analysis and stakeholder engagement
• Coach junior analysts on problem framing, technical craft, and operating as a genuine analytical partner rather than an order-taker
• Write clean, reusable SQL and Python that scales and solves genuine problems
