Jan Zandbergen Group in the Netherlands is seeking a Senior Import and Export Officer to own the end-to-end import/export processes, ensuring on-time movement of goods and accurate documentation. You will manage your supplier portfolio, collaborate with international suppliers, shipping lines and logistics partners, and work with the Import & Export Manager to improve processes.
This role offers a stable, long-term career with a competitive salary, daily lunch, holiday pay and a vibrant team
At Jan Zandbergen, we are looking for a staff member to join our import/export customs team.
Flank steaks from the USA, chicken from Ukraine, picanha from Uruguay. Just a small selection of our wonderful products; and how do they get here? That’s handled by our Customs, Import and Export department. As an Senior Import and Export Officer, you’ll be responsible for the administrative processes involved in import and export. The CIE team (Customs, Import and Export) consists of a close-knit and informal team of nine people. Within this department, it really is ‘one team, one task’. We work hard to ensure that the entire CIE process runs as smoothly as possible.
This department is ‘the gateway’ to our international trade.
Take ownership of import and export processes, ensuring goods move smoothly and on time.
Manage your own supplier portfolio, from order placement to delivery, including documentation, customs procedures and invoicing.
Work closely with international suppliers, shipping lines and logistics partners to keep shipments on track.
Handle issues and claims, finding practical solutions and preventing recurring problems.
Act as a point of contact for colleagues and support them with your import and export expertise.
Work with the Import & Export Manager to improve processes, increase efficiency and strengthen the department.
Share your knowledge and experience with colleagues, helping the team develop further.
A gross basic salary of between €4,000 and €5,500 per month (based on knowledge, skills, age and qualifications);
24 days’ annual leave per year and 8% holiday pay;
A free lunch every day, including fruit, salad, soups and fresh rolls;
A 2% end-of-year bonus;
The opportunity to work out every working day in the gym at our own Food Innovation Centre.
Every Friday afternoon there’s a sociable get-together, and we also organise great departmental and company outings! We regularly hold other fun activities too, such as ‘All of Zandbergen Bakes’, bingo, a pub quiz or indoor football.
Six times a year, the opportunity to purchase meat (and meat substitutes) at a competitive price.
A secure, stable job where you can develop yourself and continue to grow in terms of tasks, responsibilities and salary.
A financially sound employer committed to the long term.
It’s no coincidence that our slogan is “Innovation That Matters”. So expect plenty of initiatives that we’ll “just go ahead and do” – the Jan Zandbergen Group never stands still, and neither will your career. We offer internal and external training and development programmes.
You have a Bachelor's degree level of working and thinking, combined with several years of relevant experience in import and export.
You have solid knowledge of international trade, customs procedures and import and export documentation, preferably within a logistics or trading environment.
You work independently, take ownership and know how to handle complex situations.
You are accurate, well-organised and able to maintain an overview, even when managing multiple shipments and deadlines.
You communicate clearly and confidently with international suppliers, logistics partners and colleagues.
You have a practical, solution-oriented mindset and actively contribute to improving processes and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
