Job summary

FairPlay Engineering is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer for large-scale industrial energy installations. You will translate process requirements into practical automation solutions, develop system descriptions, and manage safety-related activities across projects from engineering through commissioning.

Key work includes collaboration with Process, Design, Procurement, and Construction teams, preparation of technical specifications, and hands-on involvement in FAT and SAT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Controls Engineering or related field.
• Solid knowledge of Distributed Control Systems with project experience.
• Strong understanding of control philosophies, automation systems and industrial processes.
• Ability to translate requirements into automation specifications for programming teams.
• Experience participating in HAZOP studies and SIL activities is a plus.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with client interaction.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical specifications and engineering documentation for control systems in large-scale energy installations.
• Develop system descriptions for HRSG startup, shutdown, and operational sequences.
• Create Functional Control Diagrams and control philosophies reflecting requirements.
• Select and specify field instrumentation per project specs and standards.
• Ensure contractual requirements are translated into control system requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in HAZOP studies, review safety outcomes, and manage SIL implementations from HAZOPs.
• Support procurement and selection of Burner Management Systems.
• Coordinate with Process Control System and DCS suppliers and programmers, translating requirements into programming specs.
• Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests to verify system performance.
• Participate in client meetings on controls, safety, testing, and commissioning.
