Job summary

FTI Consulting in Amsterdam is seeking a driven professional to join its Restructuring practice. You will support companies facing financial challenges through advisory work, IBRs, and practical turnaround guidance while collaborating with a seasoned team.

From day one you will engage with banks, private equity and corporates, analyze complex data, prepare pitch materials, and help shape strategic solutions.

Qualifications

• Solid experience or education in corporate finance or restructuring.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Master’s preferred.
• Strong written and verbal English/Dutch communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering restructuring advisory and IBR projects.
• Analyze drivers of business performance and variances.
• Develop viability and optimal strategies for clients.

About The Role

In our Restructuring practice, we support companies facing challenging financial circumstances with a motivated, experienced and hands‑on team. We are there to help our customers when it really matters and the sense of urgency is high. For example with an IBR, turnaround advisory or complete restructuring support, both from a financial and an operational perspective. We work for a broad range of clients; banks, debt funds, private equity and corporates. We make a difference with our pragmatic approach and a team of experienced entrepreneurial professionals.

What You'll Do

Assisting with the delivery of our core offering either restructuring advisory or performing self‑directed Business Reviews (“IBRs”). This will include:

• Assisting in the assessment the fundamental drivers of the business, and the reasons for variances and underperformance
• Assisting in establishing the viability and optimal strategy of a business
• Performing complex data studies and interpretating results
• Assisting in putting together restructuring plans (also via WHOA)
• Liaising with clients directly; and
• Communicating findings, written or orally

Assisting with the development of the business through:

• Conducting research into potential opportunities and processing market intelligence opportunities
• Preparing pitch presentations
• Mentoring of juniors and sharing best practices to assist in their development
• Building your personal and professional network by attending events

Basic Qualifications

• Solid experience in restructuring, corporate finance or a tier one consultancy firm
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Professional in English and/or Dutch is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent
