Job summary

Nebius is hiring mid- and senior-level software developers with C++ expertise to advance the YDB platform, a distributed storage and DB/queue system powering Nebius’ AI cloud. You’ll work across HDD/NVMe, NIC bandwidth, and DPUs, improving efficiency and reliability at scale.

The team operates clusters globally with hybrid/remote options within EU, focusing on performance and robustness in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience developing high-load systems in C or C++.
• Experience developing high-performance, low-latency software components.
• Understanding of core dumps, flame graphs and sanitizer-enabled builds.
• Understanding of CPU caches, atomic operations and NUMA architectures.

Responsibilities

• Evolve YDB’s architecture for new hardware, redesign core components to optimize performance.
• Design data placement and storage strategies for high-capacity systems.
• Develop wide erasure-coding schemes while ensuring durability and availability.
• Reduce recovery and rebalancing times after device outages with minimal impact on workloads.
• Provide interfaces for fleet-wide automation to deploy and operate hundreds of clusters.
