Job summary

Oliver James Group is seeking a Senior BI Developer to turn complex datasets into clear dashboards and actionable insights for business decisions in a large organisation.

You will partner with data engineers, analysts and stakeholders to model data, craft robust reporting solutions and drive self-service BI across the enterprise. The role focuses on developing and optimising dashboards, writing SQL, and improving performance while promoting data governance and high data quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of BI or BI development experience.
• Strong Power BI experience.
• Advanced SQL skills.
• Experience with DAX and data modelling.
• Experience with data warehouses and relational databases.
• Ability to translate technical data into clear business insights.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports.
• Translate business requirements into effective BI solutions.
• Model and transform data for reporting purposes.
• Develop and optimise data models and DAX measures.
• Write and optimise SQL queries.
• Improve dashboard performance and usability.
• Validate data and ensure the quality and consistency of reports.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs and reporting requirements.
• Promote self-service BI and data-driven decision-making.
• Contribute to BI standards and best practices.
