Job summary

Soda is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to own the backend services powering Soda Cloud. You’ll design and build Java services, and manage the AWS/Kubernetes infrastructure that runs them for a multi-tenant SaaS platform.

You’ll work with product and customers, ship end-to-end features, and help guide the platform with AI-assisted tooling. This is a fully remote role with ownership across a global team and equity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building backend software at a product company
• Strong Java: APIs, async processing, concurrency
• Solid SQL in a backend context: schema design, migrations in production
• Architectural judgment: data flow, latency, failure modes
• Experience on Kubernetes and AWS (EKS, IAM, RDS, S3) in production
• CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code tooling
• Observability: metrics, logging, tracing, tests
• Agentic engineering: AI coding agents in production code
• Independence in distributed, async teams across 12+ countries
• Fluent English

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust backend services and APIs in Java
• Ship features end-to-end with product and customers
• Improve reliability, performance, and scalability on AWS/Kubernetes
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and observability
• Improve agentic development tooling and safe agent usage
• Drive architectural decisions for platform evolution
