Job summary

Kake is a remote-first, people-first global community of senior engineers. We seek Senior Backend Engineers skilled in TypeScript, Python, or C#, to build high-performance, scalable systems for millions of users.

You’ll own end-to-end backend work, collaborate with product and frontend teams, and uphold strong architectural judgments. Responsibilities include designing and shipping APIs, data modeling, and ensuring robust testing and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with hands-on work in TypeScript, Python, or C#.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship production backend services end-to-end in TypeScript, Python, or C#, owning your work from implementation through deployment.
• Design, build, and version REST or GraphQL APIs that serve as the contract between frontend and backend systems.
• Make architecture decisions around data modeling, service boundaries, and component design, applying event-driven thinking where it fits.
• Model and query data across relational and NoSQL stores, choosing the right database and structure for each use case.
• Write clean, well-tested code and set up observability to catch and debug issues in live systems.
