Job summary

Nebius B.V. in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and optimize the runtime systems of a novel search engine for agentic AI.

You will design low-latency, high-throughput services that serve queries in real time and work across the stack from request handling to data access and response assembly. You will collaborate with ML and indexing teams, ship well-tested code, and balance performance with development velocity in a fast-moving, international environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production backend systems.
• Strong hands-on expertise in C++ or Rust for high-load services.
• Experience with low-latency, high-throughput architectures.
• Ability to balance correctness, latency, and velocity in delivery.
• Proven track record of operating systems in production at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate core runtime services for serving search queries at scale.
• Build and optimize request flows, including query processing and response assembly.
• Develop systems that maintain performance under high load.
• Tune CPU, memory, and data access patterns for latency budgets.
• Ensure observability, reliability, and clear interaction contracts across services.
