Tellent is seeking a product-minded Senior Backend Engineer to evolve our HRIS platform, primarily focused on Node.js with occasional React input. You will join a collaborative squad of engineers, a Product Manager, and QA to deliver real customer value.

Your first year focuses on building scalable backend services, improving reliability, and shaping technical decisions while collaborating closely with your team for a superior user experience.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and building scalable backend applications with Node.js.
• Experience with React, or interest in contributing across the stack when needed.
• Senior-level engineering judgment—knows when to refactor, optimize, and ship the right solution creates value.
• Product mindset with evolving requirements and pragmatic trade-offs.
• Curiosity and flexibility to learn new technologies and contribute beyond primary area.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve core HR workflows in Node.js with reliability for country-specific policies.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services used by organizations of all sizes.
• Improve performance, reliability, and maintainability as the customer base grows.
• Refactor and modernize the platform while ensuring a seamless experience for customers.
• Occasionally contribute to frontend development in React when it benefits the user experience.
• Collaborate with engineers, Product Managers, QA, and designers to solve customer problems.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing to raise engineering standards.
