Job summary

Lefebvre Sdu is building GenIA-L, a high-trust AI knowledge platform for lawyers and tax advisors across Europe. We seek a Senior Backend Developer to design and implement the core backend that ingests, processes, and surfaces relevant legal knowledge.

You’ll join a team focused on retrieval, knowledge extraction, and delivering reliable AI answers. The role emphasizes autonomy, impactful decisions, and ownership from day one.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and Java with ability to deploy end-to-end features.
• Experience with Elasticsearch for data retrieval and indexing.
• Experience with Scala or Kotlin is a plus for ingestion layers.
• SaaS, product-driven experience and autonomous working style.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve the data pipeline that feeds AI agents with knowledge.
• Improve reranking quality to surface correct paragraphs and reduce errors.
• Shape retrieval and knowledge extraction strategies with proven approaches.
• Work primarily in Python for new code and in Java for existing codebase.
• Make technical decisions with minimal oversight.
